women of gatsby

In the 1920's women were not very true to their men and i mean they were people not to be trusted. In the movie and book "The Great Gatsby" you can tell because Daisy has an affair with Mr. Buchanan and also Gatsby. She has a daughter with Mr. Buchanan but at the time she says that she loves Gatsby.

And also there is another couple:Mertle and her husband. Mertle says she loves her husband but low key she really is in love with Mr. Buchanan and she is very secretive sly and very dishonest. These are some examples of what women are like in Gatsby.

The Great Gatsby Film Version!

The movie version of the Great Gatsby is a great book, but also a great movie to also watch. Great Gatsby is a film of many different genres. the plot of the movie is Nick Caraway, a young Midwesterner now living on Long Island, finds himself fascinated by the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his neighbor Gatsby. Gatsby is a wealthy man who has an amazing house which he very much like to throw parties at.

The movie shows more facial emotion graphics and mood changes between characters in the movie. And that's what i think one of the thing Fitzgerald is trying to display in his books which better translates in this film. The setting is also better for some visual learners to watch and see in the movie.

1920's

The 1920's was a time of partying and spending, and that was no different in the Great Gatsby. The 20's was right after the war and people wanted to spend the money the have saved for the war efforts. After the war people just wanted to go back to their normal everyday living. They were excited to finally but away their troubles and return to the good old days. After the short recession was over the 20's, gave people shorter work weeks and extra money, which finally gave Americans a time to relax.Like in the Great Gatsby most people spent their free time at luxurious parties such as Gatsby's, where the had no limitations or restraints. Life in the 1920's was amazing for mostly everyone.

In Gatsby the boom of the economic rise made things Gatsby didn't have before the war possible now. Gatsby money that he inherited was lost and when he returned from the war in the 20's, the economy was great and he was able to prosper in his so called "unknown" business. The 1920's made things that were not possible before a given necessity.

Selfish People

People in this world become very selfish in many ways. Selfish means devoted to or caring only for oneself or concerned primarily with one's own interests, benefits, and being regardless of others. For an example someone who is rich or maybe a person who has like in hollywood and moves into LA might be selfish.

Being selfish can lead to being lonely and someone people who might not like you. Selfish people most of the time are not successful because they are inconsiderate and not caring for others. And that rule people say is "treat people the way you want to be treated" and i feel like selfish people dont know the concept of that.

Jealosy

Jealousy is familiar in relationships as well as job opportunities. When a ex lover sees you with another girl/boy the often are jealous and try to obtain redemption. When you or your fellow co worker gain the job that you wanted you will often be jealous. Most people are jealous of the person with the nicer car, better body, better looks, or who have more money but jealousy leads to grudges, loss of friendships, or even worse physical or emotional pain.

Many people feel jealous from time to time. Jealousy is easy to deal with when you finally understand what it taught you. The better ways then being jealous to handle it is communicating your feelings, identifying what your jealousy is teaching you, and finally changing any misguided beliefs that you may have had. Jealousy can be a huge problem if you don't try to come up with a appropriate solution

FLAPPERS

The 1920's was a time of change and different things in style like new music, radio shows and fashion. These few things are some influences that influenced young men and women in this era. There were people choosing new fashions and trends that young ladies fallowed. Women in movies and on poster boards etc. showed smoking and short dresses and everything in that sort.

So that's were the term "flappers" came from women who smoked and liked partying. They wore heavy make up, wore beaded necklaces. A few negative traits flappers took was smoking, bad language, immortality and selfishness. And that's how the young new culture came about elf as.

Prohibition

During the 1920's there was a ban on alcohol known as prohibition.Prohibition began January, 16, 1920, when the eighteenth amendment went into effect. Even though alcoholic drinks were illegal there were still available at speakeasies and other underground establishments. Prohibition was put into effect because people believed that crime would be reduce, but it was the exact opposite. The crime rate shot up when on the streets in search of alcohol.

Prohibition failed because people in the 1920's obtained alcohol at any cost whether it was gang related or resolved to violence. Mobs and Gang crime increased because rival gangs wanted to control the alcohol production. In 1933 the twenty-first amendment was ratified which ended prohibition in most states, By 1966 prohibition was terminated in every state.
