The 1920's was a time of change and different things in style like new music, radio shows and fashion. These few things are some influences that influenced young men and women in this era. There were people choosing new fashions and trends that young ladies fallowed. Women in movies and on poster boards etc. showed smoking and short dresses and everything in that sort.
So that's were the term "flappers" came from women who smoked and liked partying. They wore heavy make up, wore beaded necklaces. A few negative traits flappers took was smoking, bad language, immortality and selfishness. And that's how the young new culture came about elf as.
